Market Garden

We operate a chemical-free garden in the old Stockyards Neighborhood of Cleveland. On three city blocks we nurture the appreciation for agriculture that many of our refugee clients bring with them. Grapes, fruit trees, brambles, herbs, and a variety of vegetables grow throughout our field and in raised beds, which are tended by refugee volunteers and overseen by our Garden Manager.

Our garden provides more than sustenance. A group of friends  – an older man from Ukraine relaxing on a day off from work, a husband and wife from Nepal, and a young Bhutanese mother all gather at the garden to enjoy the sun and thyme-scented air of the garden. They all share a common love for working with the earth and are happy for sense of community and respite it provides. At the end of the day they take home a basket full of tomatoes, string beans, zucchini and big bell peppers for dinner.

We are committed to natural, sustainable, and chemical-free growing practices to enhance the gardening experience and produce the most nutritious, flavorful fruits and vegetables.

Fruits and vegetables are available both in bulk to restaurants and individually to consumers. Call to find out what is ripe right now!

Volunteer

Do you live nearby and want to meet some interesting people while spending time outside? Many of our refugee volunteers would love the opportunity to practicing their English with you. Gardening experience not required.
