USCRI in Erie, Pennsylvania

In the neighborhoods across Erie, Pennsylvania, we open doors for uprooted people, helping the world’s most vulnerable rebuild their lives. We are part of a nationwide network that breaks through social, cultural, and economic barriers so previously interrupted lives can flourish. The first welcome begins with navigating American culture, laying solid foundations for a fresh start, and making essential community connections to successfully integrate into our community.

One Community Program Curriculum

The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants’ International Institute of Erie (USCRI-IIE) was awarded funds to administer the One Community Program (OCP) in partnership with the International Institute of Minnesota (IIMN).  OCP is a three-year program in Erie, Pennsylvania and Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota that will focus on the Somali community and other refugee and immigrant groups (e.g., Iraqi, Ethiopian, Eritrean) that may be at-risk for female genital cutting (FGC).
