Community Spotlight: Welcome to North Carolina!

They came here fleeing violence and oppression in Iraq to find freedom and a better life in North Carolina. That’s the story an Iraqi family tells in the new WRAL Documentary “Welcome to North Carolina”. The documentary follows a couple and their two children fleeing Baghdad to live in Raleigh, from their arrival at RDU International Airport to the help they get from a local refugee agency to get settled in their new home.

Through interviews with experts the documentary also outlines the vetting process for refugees and looks at some of the controversy surrounding refugees from the Middle East coming to the US and North Carolina.
