USCRI and coalition partners in Refugee Council USA (RCUSA) submitted a statement for record emphasizing the importance of the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) operating under the Department State (DOS). The statement was submitted for the September 26, 2017 House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing on The Department of State Redesign. “We strongly believe that the refugee assistance, humanitarian diplomacy and refugee resettlement functions performed by PRM within the Department of State are inter-dependent and indivisible from each other, and critical to ensuring that the United States has a coherent and effective refugee protection policy,” the organizations stated.
